Silence

We need to find God
He cannot be found in noise and restlessness

God is the friend of Silence

See how nature...
Trees, flowers,Grass
Grow in Silence

See the Stars, the moon and sun...
How they move in silence

The more we receive in silent prayer
The more we can give in our active life

We need silence to be able to touch souls

The Essential thing is not what we say
But what God says...
To us and through us

All our words will be useless
Unless they come from within
Words which do not give the light of Christ...
Increase the Darkness

  1. Good contribution Aimee! It made me think how often we fill our environment with noise because silence is uncomfortable. I always know I've really connected with someone when we can just ride in the car, or sit at a coffee shop for a few COMFORTABLE silent minutes. I find it hard to be in silence when I'm alone with God. So often I turn on the nervous chatter the same way I would if I were to suddenly be alone with a stranger or casual acquaintance. It's good to be reminded that I need to work at getting past the discomfort of silence and allow myself to be quiet and attentive, ready to listen if required. Being silently present indicates a self-sacrificing agenda that I'd like to find more room for in all of my relationships. - Robin
