Patience
contributed by Terri
I am amazed at how working with clay teaches me to be patient. I continue to learn that a slow and steady hand is the best kind to have. One piece will take at least a couple of weeks to finish, since I need to completely leave it and come back to it for different steps along the way. Recently I have been spending much time thinking about this process and how satisfying it is when a piece turns out. The expectant anticipation is as much a part of the process as seeing the end product. I tend to think of Advent in this way –– waiting for this new birth to happen. Patient anticipation causes me to be so much more thrilled with the thought of this newborn King coming to save me; to save us all.
